A Solitary Web of Shadows

Well as I mentioned in my last diary entry which was much longer ago than I realised, I have some news....

I'm expecting a baby :D

I'm nearly 17 weeks now so nearly half way there already! Although at this point in time I don't really have a bump to speak of just extra cushioning. The first 12 weeks were quite hard as I felt nauseous and extremely tired all the time. Now I'm into my second trimester I still have a few little common pregnancy niggles but am feeling a lot better. Last Monday when I went for my 16 week midwife appointment I got to hear baby's heartbeat for the first time which was quite a relief as up until that point I was beginning to think I was just imagining being pregnant. Now I'm getting impatient to get a date for my 20-week scan so I can get to see baby and hopefully find out if we're having a little boy or girl. Quite a few weeks ago I had a dream that they told me at the scan it's a boy but we'll have to wait and see. I don't mind either way really as long as the little one is happy & healthy.

Next update will probably be after the scan now...so see you then.

Well as some of you already know it was our Wedding Day on 23rd August 2008.

The day went extremely well considering how nervous I was. I would like to thank everyone that was there. It was really great to see everyone together like that.

Well I passed the Open Uni course :)

& the fence is about three-quarters of the way there. Not bad considering the very unpredictable weather & work patterns we've had to work around since we started the project. Once its completed I shall take photos and post them on here as a lifetime achievement! :D

I'm now trying to concentrate on tying up all the loose ends for the wedding....and the nerves are now starting to kick in now the day is so close. The main thing i'm worried about is fluffing the few lines I have to repeat during the actual ceremony...I've always avoided anything that involves me being the centre of attention so this is quite a big deal for me.

Anyway not much else to tell at the moment.....hope everyone else on Live Spaces is happy and well.

Since the New Year my visits to MSN Spaces have been few and far between.

My Open Uni course was very intense and left me little time to do anything apart from the normal domestic stuff that has to be done. The course has now finished so I've got a bit of a breather before the next big event - MY WEDDING in August. We're still waiting for a few stragglers to make up their mind whether they can make it or not and there are still a few other things to sort out...apart from that it all seems to be going ok at the moment.

I've also managed to lose a stone through the bodyoptimise plan since the New Year. However the novelty has worn off and I'm gradually creeping back to my old ways. I really wish I could be more motivated to keep up a good exercise routine so I can get away with eating more of what I want. Right this minute I don't feel like lifting even a hair off the sofa!

Me and Steve are hoping to get some fencing up this weekend as our garden and several of the neighbours could be mistaken for a public park due to the lack of fence up at the moment. Obviously this is weather permitting....the 5-day forecast is not looking good at mo.

Well it's been a while!

We got an Xbox 360 back in November & I kinda got sucked in by it.

Then Christmas meant eating & drinking & catching up with the family.

Now the New Year has arrived & I have lots of projects started or about to start.

Firstly, I decided that it was time I found a way to lose some weight. So I joined up and started the Slimming World Bodyoptimise plan. I completed my first week on Thursday & had lost 4.5 lbs so am really pleased & confident that this plan works without starving myself or too much hassle. I have also started exercising again after being a couch potato for the last few months. Me & Steve also want to get out walking again but so far we've haven't had much luck with time or weather!

Secondly, I have signed up for my next Open University course TT281 - The Client Side of Application Development which starts in a few weeks time.

Then whilst all that's going on I shall be starting my spring cleaning....especially the upstairs of our house as all the rooms up there look more like a jumble sale.

I have also updated the music on my Live Space with The Very Best of Adam & Ant. I've had the CD for years but thought it'd be appropriate since I'm reading Adam Ants autobiography at the moment.

Hopefully it won't be so long next time.
